Off the Hook Community Supported Fishery and Select Nova Scotia present Halifax’s first-ever Seafood Throwdown – Saturday June 21st from 11:30-12:30 at the CATCH Seafood Culinary Stage on the Halifax Waterfront.

Two of the top seafood chefs in the province will be going head to head in a culinary celebration of local fishermen, locally caught seafood, and ecologically responsible local fisheries. Renée Lavallée of the Feisty Chef and Chef Colin Stone of the Hart and Thistle will prepare a meal with a limited budget to shop for fresh ingredients at the Historic Farmers’ Market and a secret, locally-caught fish provided by Off the Hook Community Supported Fishery. Seafood Throwdowns were pioneered by the Northwest Atlantic Marine Alliance and videos of past events are available on our YouTube channel.

Come down and see the Seafood Throwdown live as our chefs shop, cook and serve judges and public sample plates. Admission is FREE and a lucky attendee will even be chosen as the People’s Judge to help pick a winner in this heart-pounding race to transform a secret seafood ingredient into culinary delights!
