Our work is making a difference in the lives of the people who fish, eat fish and care about the ocean off the shores of New England and beyond. And that's not just us talking!
We were honored to receive the 2017 Food Sovereignty Award recognizing our work to bringing seafood into the movements to change our food system to one with dignity, equity, and access at its core values.
In their Food Funder Compass report, the Center for High Impact Philanthropy named us amongst the high impact organizations working at the intersection of environment; vibrant communities; rights and equity; and health & hunger. The report is designed to help donors navigate funding opportunities and we're grateful that they are showing them a path to our work.
In 2015 we were the first recipient of the Bologna International Food and Sustainability Award by the City of Bologna.
Whether through helping get CSFs (Community Supported Fisheries) off the ground or being persistent about fleet diversity with policy makers or putting on dynamic public events like our Seafood Throwdowns, we are changing the debate around what sustainability really means.
If you fish or eat fish, our organization is working to restore, enhance and protect our local marine ecosystem. And, while doing so being part of the larger movement to put an end to environmental, social, ecnomic and food injustice.
Thank you for your support - together we can ensure a viable local fishery with healthy fish stocks, healthy ocean, healthy local food systems and viable fishermen who can make a living fishing and living in our communities.
